Arrested Togolese suspected to have masterminded the killing of Ope Bademosi, Ondo high chief and businessman, Sunday Anani, is said to be making more revelations aimed at helping homicide detectives at the Lagos State police command to resolve the killing.

A top police officer at the Homicide section of the State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCIID), Panti Street, Yaba, Lagos told The Guardian that they were still gathering intelligence from some of the persons related to the businessman.

The officer hinted that the prime suspect, the Togolese chef, has been cooperative in their bid to resolve the murder. According to him, “we have interviewed quite a number of persons and we are close to resolving the matter. The suspects have been cooperating with us and we have also interviewed neighbours and friends of the family.”

The chef was suspected to have robbed and killed Bademosi before absconding three days after he was employed. Anani was arrested by a crack team of detectives of the Lagos State command.

Although, new twists to the killing are beginning to emerge as police dig deeper to unravel the brain behind the murder of Bademosi.

The command had on Monday invited and interrogated the deceased’s wife. A source said she was only invited to write her own statement. In a video that went viral, the cook alleged that assassins killed the chief and not him.
