Army commissions medical centre in Asaba

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai has unveiled some projects executed by the 63 Brigade’s headquarters in Delta State, which includes a medical centre, a kitchen, mosque, an interdenominational chapel and MP K9 Kennel.

At the Nigerian Army Day celebration (NADCEL 2020) held at the Brigade’s complex in Asaba, with the theme, ‘Nigeria’s Territorial Defence and Sovereignty: Imperatives for Nigeria Army’s Sustained Training and Operations,’ Buratai, who was represented by the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 6 Div, Major-Gen. Felix Agugo described the Brigade
Commander, Major-Gen. Ibrahim Jalo, as a worthy ambassador of the Nigerian Army.

He described Jalo’s deployment as the Commander of 63 Brigade as a decision in the right direction, and promised that the army would continue to work for the security of the people of Delta, in collaboration with other sister agencies in the state.

In his remark, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, David Edevbie, said: “Delta State government is very proud of this brigade, because every time we come here, we are met with improved infrastructure. It is a very interesting development that we in government must learn from; how to execute projects as quickly as possible with military precision like the Nigerian army.”
