BREAKING: Appeal court affirms Ishaku’s election, nullifies tribunal’s verdict

A five-man panel of the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday upheld the election of Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba, thereby quashing the verdict of the Taraba State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal

The tribunal had nullified the election of the governor on November 7, 2015  and declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aisha Jumai Alhassan as the duly elected governor of the state.

The Court, in its judgement, said Ishaku’s nomination by PDP could not be questioned by a non-member of the party.

More to come.

What a country. From one court to another. from one judge’s decision to another, and after a judge’s decision the executive refuses to honor the decision of the judges. What a country. It is overdue for a revolution or a coup.

As far as process is followed, it can go merry-go-rounding until justice is delivered. The Judge in this case saw reason and ran with it. Don’t you see how easy truth manifests. I will rather live in a Country that is swift in right decisions than that where justice is dragged to infinitum. Give this activist Judge a credit. Politics is ruining our prospects.

Good and bold judge. No those partisan judge that handle Rivers state, Akwa Ibom and Abia case. Those are APC judge and brown envlope judge and will meet their waterloo soon.
