Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has urged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to apologise to Nigerians for plunging the country into endless crisis and suffering.

In a telephone interaction with The Guardian against the background of growing calls for restructuring and constitutional amendment, Lamido said the inability of the ruling party to offer purposeful and visionary leadership led to the present agitations across the country.

He said the list of the failings and what APC cannot do are increasing each passing day, stressing that one thing the ruling party has found very hard to do is telling Nigerians the truth and confessing their inability to unite the country in peace and progress.

“They should also tell Nigerians that they have been deceiving them with false promises of change and growing the economy and proving jobs. These are all lies, they have deceived our people and because of the deception and lies, the masses are frustrated. Therefore, the call for restructuring is the cry of the oppressed masses for change,” he noted.
