APC urged to zone youth leader office to south-south

A youth leader in the south-south region Hon. Engr. Otobrise John Omamuyovwi has charged the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to zone the position of the National Youth leader to the south-south zone.

Stressing on the need for the party leadership to listen to the voice of reasoning, the youth leader pointed out that the party needs a vibrant, outspoken youth leader that can represent and speak for APC Youth and the Nigerian youth.

“If you take a close look at the south-south region, you will notice that no state in the south-south region is governed by an APC-led government,” Omamuyovwi said.

“It’s time to correct this error, and for the error to be corrected, the APC need to zone the National Youth leader position to the south-south.

“If the south-south gets the National Youth leader position, that will complement the Chairmanship position which will come from the North.

“APC south-south needs to have a voice, the region needs a representative that is vibrant, the region has youths that can mobilize fellow youths across the south-south region and Nigeria as a whole for victory in upcoming elections.”

According to Omamuyovwi, “If the party needs to grow and wax stronger in the south-south where APC is not governing in any state, then the party needs to do the needful.”

Omamuyovwi noted that APC needs to claim some states this time around in the south-south region and how can they achieve this? – It’s only when the party is having the youth position.

The youth leader and also founding member of APC also stress the need for President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail and on the Minister of Niger Delta Affair Godswill Akpabio to appoint and inaugurate the Management team and the Governing Board of NDDC, saying a “running a Sole Administrator is shortchanging other States representative in management and Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.”

Omamuyovwi called on Buhari to prevail on the APC Caretaker Committee to fix an urgent date to conduct and organize the APC National Convention that will channel in new executives to pilot the affairs of APC as mandated by the party constitution.
