Amosun urges applicants to preserve C of O’s
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has appealed to beneficiaries of Homeowners Charter Initiative to handle their Certificates of Occupancy (CofO) and other land deed documents with care, saying the documents are security papers that should be kept away from authorised persons.
Amosun, who made the remark while distributing new title documents at the Oba’s Complex Auditorium, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta on Thursday, enjoined the applicants to guard their documents jealously.
The governor, who spoke through his Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko, added: “Ensure that you keep your C of O safe. I have seen cases where people take the document, forge the signatures and promptly take them to the bank to obtain loan without the consent or knowledge of the owner.’’
