AMCON woos ICPC to recover N5 trillion debts
The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) is seeking partnership with the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to recover trillions of naira owed the Federal Government by a number of entities.
The decision for the collaboration was disclosed during a courtesy visit by AMCON management to the ICPC headquarters in Abuja.
AMCON Chairman, Dr. Muiz Banire, said N4.9 trillion were being owed government.
Responding, ICPC Chairman, Professor Bolaji Owasanoye, pledged the commission’s commitment to partnering with AMCON to achieve its mandate of assets recovery, which also forms one of the pillars of the anti-graft body.
