Ambode visits Enugu, reiterates support for united Nigeria
Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Thursday evening paid a courtesy visit to Enugu state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, where he reiterated his support for a united and indivisible Nigeria. Speaking at the Enugu Government House, Ambode said since assumption of office, concerted efforts have been made to maintain peace and harmony in the state.
Ambode, who was in Enugu to attend the final burial of Dr Alex Ekwueme, said considering the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos being the melting pot of various cultures, deliberate policies were put in place to promote harmonious relationship among residents.
Ambode commended Ugwuanyi for the developmental strides in Enugu, saying while other states seem to be having problem, there is dignified peace and stability in Enugu.
Aside, Ugwuanyi, other dignitaries who joined in receiving Governor Ambode and his entourage at the Lion Building of Enugu Government House located at Independence Layout included the State’s Deputy Governor, Hon Cecelia Ezeilo; former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso; Senate’s Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio; members of Enugu State Executive Council, amongst others.
