Akwa United coach blames players for loss of league match
Coach of The Akwa United FC, Zakari Baraje on Sunday blamed his players for the 1-3 loss of their Glo Premier League match to Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.
Responding to questions during a post-match news conference, Baraje said his team failed to utilise the many goal scoring opportunities that came their way to stop the defeat.
He added that he was not surprised that Wikki won the match because they played better than his players.
Baraje added that he would get back to the drawing board and prepare for the next match, stressing that he was confident that his team would bounce back in the competition.
“I am not blaming the officials because they have done their job well,’’ he said
Wikki scored their first goal through Victor Yakubu, who scored in the 22th minute, Mubarak Umar made it two in the 57th minute while Ebenezer Aboyemi secured the third in 69th minute.
United had managed to register their lone goal through Ukemi Davis in the 51st minute.
The united is placed in the 4th position with 47 points. The match attracted many spectators including some top government functionaries.
