Akinde Urges Christians To Imbibe Christ’s Virtues
The Anglican Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Adebayo Akinde, has enjoined Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ and use the Christmas season as a time to celebrate the uniqueness of Christ.
Akinde, who said this during the Christmas celebration at the Cathedral of St. Jude Anglican Church, Ebute Meta, Lagos, urged Christians to connect with God and expect positive results in all endeavors.
He said: “Celebrating Christmas reminds us of the living reality that, without Christ, we are all in danger. The birth of Jesus Christ has reconciled the world with Almighty God. It is a time to appreciate, love and serve God more in His kingdom.”
He called Christians to appreciate the collective debt Christ has paid for mankind, noting that “Christians should love, respect, fear, worship and exalt the savior, who has been born to safe the world.
Akinde asked Christians to be faithful to God even in the face of hardship in the country, adding “There are so much hardships in the country but we should have hope in the Lord because with God, all things are possible. Our economy is collapsing but we should continue to pray at all times.”
