Air Peace airlines has taken delivery of its newly acquired Boeing 777-200 aircraft, becoming the first local carrier to procure and register such state-of-the-art airliner in the country.
 
The 274-capacity aircraft touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Friday. It’s the first of three B777 airliners Air Peace has lately acquired in preparation for its Dubai, Sharjah, London, Guangzhou-China, Houston, Mumbai and Johannesburg services. 
 
The Boeing 777 is a family of long-range wide-body twin-engine jet airliners developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It is the world’s largest twinjet and has a typical seating capacity of 314 to 396 passengers, 
 
The aircraft, with registration mark 5N-BE, bears ‘Ifechukwu’, the middle name of the Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema. 
 
The aircraft, which was flown in by Chief Pilot of the airline, Capt. Victor Egonu, and Capt. Simon Donoghue, arrived to a rousing welcome by an excited team from Air Peace led by Onyema, enthusiastic crowd of top aviation personnel, and security operatives.
