‘Aggrieved APC, PDP leaders planning to form new party’

PDP-vs-APC
A former governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Sam Ominyi Egwu, has disclosed that some aggrieved leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are closing ranks with their counterpart of the embattled People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to form a formidable opposition political grouping to wrest power from the ruling federal authorities in the 2019 general elections.

Dr. Egwu, a member representing Ebonyi north senatorial zone, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Commerce and Industry, disclosed this yesterday, but stated that the formation of a new party was not the best option.

Speaking with journalists in his Umuebe country home, Ohaukwu local government area, also a former Minister of Education, condemned formation of new parties by some politicians each time their political groups are facing challenges which he said was not the case in advanced countries.

‘’Yes, some people are of the view that a new party should be formed because of the lingering crisis. But one thing I believe is that in as much as I know that forming new party may be good option because the situation we have found ourselves in our party may be difficult to come out of it in the near future, the formation may not be the best option.

“Let me tell you, this agitation for formation of new party is not only in the PDP, it is also in the APC where some leaders are not
happy the way they are treated.”

This party is going to be called PDAPCP conspiracy to loot. Buhari must hurry up and plug all the holes in the system. We Nigerians will be able to know who are the genuine patriot when the game begins.

I wonder if forming a new political party is the solution or better way to usurp power! After all, there are several political parties today that have gone under waters! What is important is what difference you can offer!

Peace can never reign among our politicians until they jettison their selfish and insatiable ambitions for the welfare of masses. There can never be progress in this nation until political games in Nigeria is seen as service and not a big business of wealth acquisition. Let them form 100 political parties, their greed will scatter each one of them. Arise o compatriots!!!

Most Nigerian politicians are gangsters and thieves who mean no good for the common man. We are yet to understand our power as citizens otherwise these rogues wilt not continue in their madness. We have the power to elect and to sack.they ought to be our servants but they’ve turn the thing on its head. Those coming together to form another party are those seeking relevance for selfish reasons, the end game is stealing.

It is all quest for power and the perks that goes with it especially the fringe benefits of corruption. I am very worried that our political leaders lacks philosophical and ideological values on which to build a virile political platform. In the first republic the ideological differences between the major political parties was pronounced and you know where each party stands but today, it is as somebody described it “amala politics”. Stomach infrastructure. The masses are like denuded chicken in the hand of the former Soviet dictator, Joseph Stalin. The masses has been robbed of their dignity and by extension their sanity that they will even be prepared to sell the future of their children for a bag of rice of for few naira notes given by the politicians in exchange for their votes. Political restructuring has become the most urgent imperative in Nigeria today. It is the fastest way to economic, political and intellectual emancipation. The current unitary regime may lead to political and social implosion that could lead to complete disintegration. It is time for the political class to wake up from their budget padding induced stupor and confront the challenges of taking Nigeria into the 21st century. We cannot continue with analogue politics when the whole world is already talking about post digital society. A stitch in time they say, saves nine. I rest my case.

Defeat in one election does not mean death. As long as many of their faithful followers are still willing to vote for them, then the party is still alive. Of course, you know millions of Nigerians will still vote for PDP, so where is the death coming from?

  • Olatubosun

Let them form the party, they would meet their dead end. In whatever way Pdp regroup theirselves again, they would meet their failure.

I think it’s a healthy development. We will continue to jiggle around until we get it.
