AGF gives food items to Kebbi residents
The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has distributed 10 trucks of food items, to over 5, 000 households in Kebbi State.
The gesture was to complement government’s efforts in providing palliatives while also serving as Ramadan gifts to residents.
Confirming the donation to journalists in Birnin Kebbi, National Coordinator of the Khadimiya for Justice and Development Initiative, Alh. Malami Abdulkadir said the items include 2, 600 bags of rice, 1,000 bags of sugar, 300 cartons of spaghetti, 1,000 bags of millet and 1,000 kegs of vegetable oil.
Abdulkadir said to ensure the equitable distribution of the items, his organisation has constituted a distribution committee under the leadership of Bello Muhammad Nasarawa Dan Dakan Gwandu.
Responding, the committee chairman, Gwandu promised to adhere strictly with the terms of reference given to his committee.
He said he will ensure equitable distribution of the items to the less privileged and most vulnerable in the society.
In a message to the state, the Attorney General called on Muslim faithful to use the month of Ramadan to pray for the end of the pandemic, peaceful coexistence and relief from current challenges.
