General Overseer (World-wide), The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has asked Nigerians, especially those in political offices to imbibe the spirit of contentment and peace.

Adeboye who ministered during the monthly thanksgiving service at the RCCG headquarters, The Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, said the virtues were useful tools to having a happy home and nation.

The cleric, who spoke through the Assistant General Overseer, Administration and Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola, on ‘Divine Visitation,’ said the ingredients that are inevitable in a happy home include contentment, peace, security and joy.

He hinged the causes of contentment to inordinate ambition and the desire to have everything, including those things that are not needed, or would not add significant value to one’s life.

Adeoye said: “The Scriptures outlined the fact that if we have food and raiment, we should be contented, but the reverse is the case today, especially in Nigeria where covetousness have taken over the life of many people who want to have everything to themselves, as if they can ride two cars or wear two clothes at the same time.”

“Man completely believing in himself to provide full security for his family would end up as a failure because no matter how strong a man is, he would fall asleep but there is only One Person who neither sleeps nor slumber, but ever awake to protect those who have absolute trust in Him.”
