Former national president of Adara Development Association (ADA), Danladi Yerima, yesterday, alleged a grand plot to wipe out Adara people of Kaduna State and take their lands.

Amid the outcry by Kajuru leaders, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has condemned the rising insecurity in parts of the North.

Speaking when Kaduna Coalition for Peace and Justice staged a peaceful rally in solidarity with Adara nation at Atyap Town Hall, Sabon Tasha, Yerima said the Adara natives would survive and come back stronger, despite the attacks in the community.

Coordinator of the coalition, Jerry Rawlings Pedok, said during the rally that the gathering was to show solidarity with Adara natives who suffered as a result of recent violence visited on them.

Following the security challenges in parts of the North, Kebbi State governor, Atiku Bagudu, has summoned security chiefs and traditional rulers in the state to find solutions.

Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Muazu Dakingari, told our correspondent yesterday at the Government House in Birnin-Kebbi that the meeting was aimed at protecting lives and property.

He appealed to the people to support security agencies in the discharge of their duties.

Meanwhile, Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, has called for peace and understanding between Jukun and Tiv communities on the border of Benue and Taraba states where crises forced many people to flee their homes recently.

Ortom, who made the call yesterday in Makurdi, condemned the conflict, which led to loss of lives and property, rendering many innocent people homeless.

The governor said he and his Taraba counterpart, Governor Darius Ishaku, had already taken far-reaching measures to end the conflict and restore lasting peace to the border communities.

He appealed to the people of the affected communities to support the peace initiatives of governments of the two states to prevent further conflicts in the area.

Ortom was corroborated by Adi Daniel, the chairman of Wukari Council of Taraba, who urged the warring parties to bury the hatchet and embrace peace for the rapid development of the area and the state at large.

The chairman made the call yesterday at Wukari while interacting with media practitioners on the recent upheaval in the area that led to massive destruction of lives and property.

He said efforts to restore permanent peace have been put in place.

The state police command said additional policemen had been drafted to Kente and neighbouring villages to restore normalcy.
