Accord Party’s candidate for Katsina North Senatorial District Lawal Nalado on Saturday won the Senate election at Kofar Baru 003 Polling Unit, Sarkin Yara ward, Daura, Katsina State polling unit of Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari, who is seeking a second term to the office on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), had earlier won the presidential election in the polling unit.

In the Senate election, APC’s Ahmad Baba Kaita polled 248 votes, while Accord Party polled 263.

In the House of Representatives election, APC polled 436. Accord polled 53.

Buhari won the presidential election in the unit with APC’s 523 votes, while Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had 3 votes.

The president and his wife, Aisha Buhari, voted at the Sarkin Yara Ward A, Kofa Baru polling unit (03), Gidan Niyam in Daura local government area of Katsina State.

Nigeria’s incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari, has said he will be the winner of the presidential elections after he cast his vote at his polling unit.

Buhari said he was hopeful over the outcome of the exercise.

“Very hopeful indeed!” he retorted as he was swarmed by reporters.

Buhari, when asked if he will accept defeat and congratulate the winner if he loses, bullishly responded: “I will congratulate myself, I am going to be the winner.”
