Abia indigenes in North America to partner govt on healthcare delivery

A team of Abian professionals based in North America has commenced the process of enhancing the healthcare delivery of the state, by partnering with government on its area of needs in the hospitals.

The professionals, who operate under the aegies of Abia State National Association of North America (ASNA), said they have commenced need-assessment tours of selected hospitals in each of the three senatorial districts.

According to the professionals, the tour, which was facilitated by the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, is aimed at establishing what they called, ‘a medical center of excellence.’

Members of the team include Dr Udochukwu Asonye (Team Leader), Dr Christian Ike (National President), Dr Acho Emeruwa, Mrs Emeruwa, and Dr Ureh Lekwuwa. Others are, Solomon Kanu, Mrs Joy Okoro and Chibuzor Ngwakwe.

ASNA members holding appointed positions in the state joined the team on the need-assessment tour.

Among them were, Special Adviser to the governor on Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Chima Chukwu, Special Advisers on Private, Public Partnership, Lawrence Odoemelam, and his counterpart in Millennium Development Goals, Chime Asonye.
