A Professor of Veterinary Medicine and Clinical Virology at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU), Abia State, Maduike Ezeibe, has expressed doubt over the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

He also faulted the speed at which vaccinations are being carried out in Nigeria, saying the exercise could last centuries before the entire population is covered.

Ezeibe, who described himself as the inventor of Medicinal Synthetic aluminium-magnesium Silicate (MSAMS), claimed the drug could cure HIV/AIDS and COVID-19.

He said: “In March, this year, I was at the science expo organised by the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation at Eagle Square, Abuja.

“My entry was ‘Potentials of MSAMS for the Nigerian economy. I explained both in writing and speech that MSAMS uses opposite electrical charges to mop viruses and abnormal cells.

“It is already in literature that every virus and every abnormal cell has either positive or negative charge while aluminium magnesium silicate, an existing medicine, has both charges, and so, cures viral diseases including COVID-19 and cancers.

“I concluded by saying that the invention would make Nigeria great, economically and diplomatically.”

Ezeibe noted that in about two years since the outbreak of the virus, even developed nations have failed to vaccinate 100 per cent of their population. He said less than two per cent of Nigerians have received the jab, stressing it could be 200 – 300 years before all citizens are vaccinated.

Reacting to sanction by the Edo State government against unvaccinated persons, Ezeibe said: “If they (Edo State) stop people from coming to Edo State because they have not been fully vaccinated, would the state also stop every Edo indigene from going to other states/countries where people may not have been vaccinated?”

He described the sanction as mere copying of whatever other countries do, even when it is clear they are wrong.

He explained: “MSAMS was invented in 1994 but the first patents were registered in 2006, while the generic medicine, MSAMS itself, was patented in 2012. In 2017, three formulations for human treatment including Antivirt (used for HIV/AIDS and COVID-19) were patented.”

He added: “MSAMS can be used to eradicate the infection by ensuring that every citizen of every nation is tested and those that are positive are isolated and treated.

“Anybody who goes on trying to suppress this invention is not punishing me or any other individual but the country, and such should be guilty of economic/diplomatic sabotage.”
