Abia State government has announced five-year tax waivers for investors in the state, saying this will boost industrialisation and create jobs for the people.

Deputy Governor, Ude Oko Chukwu disclosed this at Afaraukwu in Umuahia, while declaring open a mini-residential estate built by a Lagos-based security consultant, Nzeribe Okegbue, stressing that the waiver was to encourage Abia people and other interested investors to contribute to state’s development.

“There is no better state to invest in than in Abia currently rated among the top three safest states in Nigeria. The state government led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, is ready to support investors to ensure that they reap good returns on their investments,” he stated.

Okegbue, who is Managing Director of Combatants Guards Limited, the estate investor, said government’s incentives and encouragement were part of his motivations to venture into the estate project.

Chairman of the occasion, Chief Ndidi Okereke, urged Abia people to take advantage of Governor Ikpeazu’s friendly business policies to industrialise the state and create employment opportunities for the people.
