Construction-companiesThree construction workers, who allegedly forged a land document and defrauded the owner of his property, were on Wednesday docked before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

The accused, Dosumu Musibau, 58; Edwin Emeka, 55; and Wasiu Ayedogbon, 48, are standing trial on a five-count charge bordering on fraud, forgery, conspiracy and burglary.

The accused, all residents of Egan in Igando area of Lagos State, denied committing the offences.

The prosecutor, Insp. Emby Ingobo, told the court that the accused committed the offences between January 2011 and January 2014, in Lagos.

Ingobo said that the accused persons conspired and defrauded one Adetokunbo Bankolo of his property, situated at No. 49, Obajimi St., in Egan town Igando, Lagos.

He said that the accused persons forged documents of the complainant’s family property and forcefully entered the land.

He said that the accused fraudulently took over the property of the complainant.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 326, 323, 361 (1) (a) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
In her ruling, the Magistrate, Mrs F. F. George, granted each of the accused N500, 000 bail, with two sureties each in like sum.

The case was adjourned till Dec. 10 for mention.
