2,000 residents benefit from free health service in Apapa, Ijora

More than 2,000 residents of Apapa and Ijora areas of Lagos State have benefitted from a community-based health project organised by a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs. Mojisola Meranda.

The lawmaker, who is representing Apapa Constituency 1, disclosed that the project was aimed at building a healthy society and thereby alleviating the sufferings of the people. The health mission, which was a four-day event, was organised under the platform of Mo’care Meranda Charity Foundation.

The free health services included consultation and treatment of ailments such as: hypertension, diabetes, free eyeglasses and dental care, among others. According to her, the well being of the community is the strength of any society and as such, routine health checkups is needed to achieve a healthy society.

“It is a known fact that a healthy society would aid the growth and development of any country, therefore, the health of the people should be of paramount to any government. health missions such as this needed to move the state forward and it also serve as a way of giving back to the society.
