SINCE the official opening of the long-awaited Delta City Mall in Effurun, near Warri, Uvwie Local Council, Delta State, a fortnight ago, not less than 12,000 persons visit the complex daily, it was learnt.

The Delta Mall project began three years ago in collaboration with the Delta State government and Shoprite.

The former governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, who commissioned the mall in company of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Emmanuel Ekemejewan Sideso, Abe 1, recently, said the mall would boost the economy of the Effurun-Warri area and create job opportunities.

He urged the host community of Uvwie to ensure that the environment where the mall is located is kept clean and safe always.

Meanwhile, an official of Broll Property Services Limited, consultants to the investors of the Delta Mall project, Mr. Oni Olusola, has disclosed that the mall was an instant success judging by the thousands of people who throng the mall daily since it opened for business, to buy one thing or the other or feed their eyes.

The idea of the mall”, Olusola said, “is where shoppers come together to buy anything they need. Since we opened the mall for trading, we have been doing about 12,000 foot falls everyday. From what I have seen in the last few weeks , it is a successful project,”Olusola said.

The Chief Executive Officer of Delta Mall Development Company Limited, Mr. Japie Swart, earlier said the Delta Mall in Warri, Delta State, would gulp between $50million and $60million.
