I’m sorry. The old Taylor Swift can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Because she’s dead.

After the internet waited, quite impatiently, for Swift’s video to “Look What You Made Me Do”, she finally released it last night.

There were a few teasers for the video, before its release, which received mixed criticisms. Some critics felt she was copying Beyonce’s “Formation, but the director denied that on Twitter. Others thought it was a jab at Kanye West, leaving fans to doubt that this music video would put an end to Taylor Swift’s endless negative press and disputes.

But Taylor Swift’s new video shut her haters up, and guess how she did it. By becoming her own biggest hater. This video makes it very clear that we are dealing with a new, more aggressive Taylor Swift.

The video shows us the versions of Taylor Swift up till now: from innocent to infamous, to glamourous, to victimised, to one with snakes, to zombified, and to edgy.

“Look What You Made Me Do” has already broken records in the few days since its release.

It raked up 184,589 download sales between Thursday night and Saturday afternoon, according to numbers from BuzzAngle Music. On Sunday afternoon, its first-day audio streams were at 3,048,667 out of 4.6 million total U.S. audio streams for all Swift songs.

Her lyric video broke the record for the most-watched video, hitting over 37 million views, 19 milion within 24 hours.

Of course, her fans and critics took to social media to give their reactions and opinions about it, and here are some of them:

Taylor threw multiple shade in this scene where a Katy Perry look-alike crashes a car because of paparazzi, holding a Grammy which is an award that Perry does not have.
