R Kelly’s sex life has been a topical issue mostly because it seems that his preference strictly revolves around minors. From his rumoured marriage to singer Aaliyah in 1994, to several cases of sexual misconduct and child pornography to the 50-year-old singer leading an abusive sex cult as revealed by three women who were formerly in his inner circle – Cheryl Mack, Kitti Jones, and Asante McGee in a report by Buzzfeed.

So far, this is all you need to know about Kelly and the alleged sex cult.

  • The ladies in question are all aspiring singers

The ladies involved are young ladies who approached the singer to aid their musical career. In a report with Buzzfeed, mother to one the ladies J. said, “When we got to go backstage with R. Kelly, we stayed there over two hours…One-on-one with just me and my daughter and him. We went back to talk about the music. He listened to her CD. He was going to help her with her CD”. This was in 2015 and two years after they are still fighting to bring their daughter back home after that fateful incident.

  • They call him “Daddy” and he calls them “Babies”

R Kelly is reportedly very controlling. According to Mack who worked for him as his personal assistant for over a year and a half, “You have to ask for food. You have to ask to go use the bathroom. … [Kelly] is a master at mind control. … He is a puppet master.” He is also said to have seized their phones and they are required to ask for permission to call or leave their rooms (in an apartment he rented for them which is close to his house).

  • He films their sexual activities

Mack also reported that Kelly made the women dress in jogging suits because “He doesn’t want their figures to be exposed; he doesn’t want them to look appealing.” McGee and Jones also reported that Kelly films the sexual activities between Kelly and the ladies and shares the videos with the men in his circle. They also report that there is a den mother who teaches the newcomers on how Kelly likes to be pleasured.

  • Babies get punished for bad behaviour

According to Mack and Jones, he punished the women physically and verbally when they break any of his rules. Jones claimed that he held her against a tree and slapped in 2013 for being too friendly with the male cashier.

  • These babies have been brainwashed

According to an article in The Guardian, these women are all above the legal age and upon goodwill checks by the Georgia and Illinois police force have claimed to be fine. One of the ladies, an aspiring singer, told police she was “fine and did not want to be bothered with her parents” but according to J. who last saw her daughter in December 2016, “It was as if she was brainwashed. [She] looked like a prisoner — it was horrible,” she said. “I hugged her and hugged her. But she just kept saying she’s in love and [Kelly] is the one who cares for her. I don’t know what to do.”

In a statement released by Kelly’s lawyer, Linda Mensch, “Mr Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him,” she said, in a statement emailed to The Telegraph.
