Niniola Opens Up About How “Maradona” Changed Her Life

Nigerian songstress, Niniola in a recent interview with Off-The-Top reality TV has dished that her hit song, “Maradona” changed her life.

The singer who has some hit songs to her name and is the elder sister to the fellow singer, Teni the Entertainer revealed that the hit song represents a radical turning point in her music career.

When asked about her romance with Afro-house genre, the former “Project Fame West Africa” contestant said,

“Preparation meets opportunity. To be honest. It just happened”.

She goes on further,

“It’s the grace of God but as they say, when hard work and preparation meets opportunity, it just happens. After Project Fame, I just wanted to prove myself. I knew I could sing but I just wanted more. I loved to dance and wanted to incorporate these two things.

I didn’t know anybody in the industry. So, I went online in search for the best producer in Nigeria. This was in 2013. Sarz’s name kept coming up. I reached out to him and he requested that I give him a hit song. I dropped “Ibadi” and that’s how it happened.

One song changed my life. I just did the song Maradona and knew that, like every other ones, it was good. But when we dropped it, it went boom. People and artistes from South Africa started reaching out to me.”

Just recently, Niniola bought examination forms for 30 students to make them eligible to write the upcoming Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams. She made this move through her foundation “Adopt A Child’s Education”. The “Ibadi” crooner disclosed that it was in a bid to continue in her late father’s footsteps as he was very passionate about education.

The award-winning singer wrote on Instagram,

“I promised to do more and Walk in my Late Dads shoes…
In continuation 2day I through my foundation @adoptachildseducationprovided 30 jamb forms for some students.
Lets Put some smile on the kids faces.”

Since hitting prominence in 2013 after finishing third runner-up on the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa, she has gone on to do achieve commendable things like becoming the first female Nigerian artiste to have over one million monthly listeners on Spotify.
