Kidnap

Halle Berry acts as the new heroine, Karla, of the new thriller “Kidnap” where she is a diner waitress trapped in a legal battle for custody of her 6-year-old son, Frankie with her ex-husband who has a business.

She lives mostly a perfect life until she leaves Frankie temporarily to make a call to her divorce lawyer and he is kidnapped while playing at a park.

Seeing her son dragged by a woman into an unknown Mustang unleashes the vigilante in Karla who promises herself: “As long as my son is in that car, I will not stop. Wherever you go, I will be right behind you”.

Cars crash, guns fire, a concerned mother on the run uses blunt objects as weapons. ‘Kidnap ‘strongly casts the maternal instinct as a primordial will to enact violence.

With an average rating of 42% on Rotten Tomatoes, 6/10 on IMDb and 46% on Metacritic, ‘Kidnap’ isn’t such a bad movie to want to see at a cinema this weekend.

The Dark Tower

The Dark Tower Poster

In The Dark Tower, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), the last Gunslinger, is locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim (Matthew McConaughey), also known as the Man in Black. The Gunslinger must prevent the Man in Black from toppling the Dark Tower, the key that holds the universe together.

With the fate of worlds at stake, two men collide in the ultimate battle between good and evil.

This movie is a continuation of the Stephen King’s eight-volume Dark Tower series. The Dark Tower received negative reviews, with critics calling the plot incomprehensible, and the movie too simple as well as being unfaithful to King’s books. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently has an approval rating of 19% with an average rating of 3.8/10. It has an average of 6.1/10 on IMDb.
