Eedris Abdulkareem, Baba Fryo Others Demand Pastor Adeboye Speaks On RUGA Settlement

Yesterday, July 8, veteran Nigerian artists,  Eedris Abdukarim and Baba Fryo protested in front of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) camp main gate along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The musicians alongside some other Nigerians protested in the wake of the recent trending reaction of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer’s comment on the rape scandal trailing the global senior pastor of Commonwealth of  Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo.

The protest was organised to demand that Pastor Adeboye speaks on the Rural Grazing Area (RUGA) settlement project initiated by the federal government just as he has spoken on the rape allegation.  Abdulkareem took to his Instagram page to share a video in which he said it is important that the cleric speaks

Abdulkareem said:

“We are here to see Baba Adeboye, who is our father. We love him so much and we want him to speak and he must speak. It is very important for him to speak. I’m here with Baba Fryo, I’m here with Felix Duke and we are here to say ‘Baba speak up’. You have talked about COZA, now, we want you to talk about RUGA.”

It would be recalled that the proposed RUGA settlement by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to put an end to a recurring conflict between nomadic herders and farmers, has been met with considerable outrage from Nigerians. Many have also slammed it as further confirmation of the president’s alleged plan to Islamise the country, an ever-present allegation relentlessly dismissed by the Federal Government.
