Who says you have to wait for a vacation to treat yourself to a spa day?

As a matter of principle, one shouldn’t have to wait for a weekend getaway to destress. If you’re craving a nice facial, cocumber water and some prime relaxation time at a spa, save yur car miles and transform your own bathroom into your personal spa. Essentially, your bathroom exists so you can pamper yourself – yes, getting clean is considered pampering. Sadly, it’s often set up in a way that makes us just rush in, shower, and rush out.

It’s time for a remodel!

The time has come to take back your space. Turn your bathroom into a sophisticated space where you can achieve everything you look forward to when going to a spa. Is your bathroom space smaller than you’d like? Don’t let that come between you and your happiness. Three things you need to keep in mind when transforing your bathroom – ambience, serenity, and cleanliness.

You don’t need a whole lot of money to remodel your bathroom. Just a few adjustments and changes in colour, lighting, space and detail can be a drastic improvement. All you need to invest is a little time and your creative mind and you’ll be well on your way to atteding to your pampering cravings at your own convenience and whenever the mood hits you.

Transform your bathroom in five easy steps –

  1. Light It Up – Some very simple and almost effortless lighting changes in your bathroom can completely change the energy of the space. Install a light dimmer so you can create a softer ambience when you need to. This is usually easier if you want to get right in the tub and not spend time lighting candles and carefully placing them around the room. Although, candles are still a good option if they’re scented. You should also get rid of thick curtains.
  2. Stock Up on Pampering Essentials – What are your most favorite spa indulgences? Buy them from your nearest beauty store and keep them at home to use at will. Or, you could even make some products like scrubs and masks yourself with simple items from your kitchen. Store them somewhere in your bathroom where you can see them clearly, like on a shelf or your window as opposed to in a drawer, so you’re reminded to make some time to relax. Prepackaged products are usually already aesthetically pleasing, so consider storing the DIY ones in cute mason jars as well.
  3. Give Yourself Some Space – A spacious room is usually considered more airy – even if it isn’t really. You can make your bathroom look and feel more spacious with light wall colours, tiles and fixtures, seeing as lighter colours reflect more light. Another way to make your bathroom look bigger is to use sheer curtains for your window(s) so more light gets in. Other great ways to create space is to invest in a full length mirror, floating or smaller furniture, open shelves, and clear glass for your shower installment.
  4. Invest In Shower Accesories – Everything you’re doing would be for nought if you forget to pay attention to your shower and/or bathtub. That is, after all, the epicenter of your pampering activities. If you have a bath tub, you may consider getting a tub tray and decorating it with your soaps, maks, scrubs and face towels. If you use a shower, a fancy shower head could create a more luxurious experience when taking a shower. or enjoying a steaming.
  5. Give Your Bathroom Some Texture – To give your bathroom an even more luxurious feel, you need plush acessories. Accentuate your personal spa with soft floor mats, brand new towels, fluffy slippers, and luxurious robes and turbans. Even better, match them with your bathroom’s pallette. If you’re feeling extravagant,
