Last night it rained, at least that was what the wet floor outside led me to believe. Today it looks like the sun is having a swell time using all its power to smile on us. I, for one can never be certain of what the weather is going to be like, so I took out time to get at least four things that would definitely help in the current Nigerian climate. Surviving this Nigerian climate without looking like a hot mess is major key.

Key 1: Weather App

iOS and Android users, it is high time you make good use of your weather app. You do not want a situation where you are not dressed for the downpour that might meet you halfway when you are up and about your day. Be prepared. Check your weather app and plan your outfit and pack that bag and briefcase accordingly.

Key 2: Portable Umbrella

Just in case you forgot Key 1, let us move on over to Key 2. The portable umbrella can fit into your bag and if you are in the middle of that Nigerian-hot-but-raining-moment, you would be dry. At the very least!

Key 3: Crocs

Although they look like the perfect rainy footwear. Recent events have led me to believe that crocs can be worn in whatever situation (do not try this if you work in a corporate environment).

Key 4: Mini Fan

Do not get me started on the constant heat wave. Lately the sun has decided that being friendly is no longer an option. In that case, asides from that bottle of water to save yourself from dehydration, add a mini fan to your list. Although you might look really vain with the fan, you won’t look like you just stepped out of the shower.

All good? You’re welcome!
