She said,

“Taraji P Henson is a powerful woman and a powerful actress.  She is an entertainer that fans cannot take their eyes off of due to her great acting ability. We welcome her bright star on our Walk Of Fame.”

This honour makes her the 2,597th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, after Hollywood actress, Viola Davis received the 2,596th star at last year ceremony.

It was also confirmed that “Boyz In The Hood” director John Singleton and rapper Mary J Blige will speak at the ceremony.

Henson is Washington DC-born actress whose career started working as an extra in television shows before getting her big break in the 2001 comedy-drama film “Baby Boy”, starring alongside Tyrese Gibson.
