Surviving R Kelly: People Express Disgust At R.Kelly’s Sexual Allegations
Ladies, don’t bring your girl to me please cuz I’m a flirt– R Kelly
The docuseries Surviving R Kelly has found himself shrouded in a child rape mess. The singer who is one of the most successful R and B singers of all times despite threatening to sue Lifetime if they aired the show has become the subject of the #MeToo campaign.
The young women were naive and stupid. They don’t deserve any blame. They were literally kids. It’s the grown people around the situation who belong on the ass whoopin list with R. Kelly.

The big story here isn’t simply R. Kelly’s attraction to underage girls. It’s the collusion of the adults who facilitated his access to these young women for fame and fortune. If we’re going to tell a story let’s tell it ALL. There’s enough shame to go around.

John Legend who appeared in the final episode of the six-part docuseries made it clear via his Twitter account that he was not interested in protecting a “serial child rapist.”
The show’s producer Dream Hampton also mentioned that she reached out to the likes of Jay Z, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga and Erykah Badu but only Legend showed up.
“It’s because it’s so messy and muddy. It’s that turning away that has allowed this to go on,” she told Shadow and Act.
Vibe magazine found that Kelly got married to Aaliyah when she was only 15 and listed herself as 18 while the singer was 27.
For those of you who needed a multi-part investigative series to believe R Kelly is awful to Black teen girls:

Her mother Houghton, however, discredited the information in a released statement via the artiste’s official social media page stating that she was always with her daughter.
“My husband and I were always on tour with [Aaliyah] and at interviews and every place she went throughout her entire career.”
“Whoever this woman is, I have never seen her before anywhere on planet earth, until now.”
Kelly had in 2018, released a 19-minute song titled I Admit where he addressed the allegations levelled against him.
In this song, he says that he “had to write a song about this, ’cause they always take my words and twist it” and he “never thought it would come to this, to be the most disrespected artist.”
In the song, he also said that a family member sexually harassed him until he was 14.
In another song, his brother Carey accused him of impregnating their 14-year-old niece which Sparkle admitted to in the docuseries.
