#WCW is a hashtag trend that recently joined social media, especially Instagram and because it celebrates women all around the world, social media population cannot help but fall in love with it. Our #WCW is about women who have held their own and have been changing and influencing society through their actions.

The beautiful actress turned politician now actress again is our #WCW this week. July baby, born July 19, 1971 she has all the qualities we need for her to be our woman crush this Wednesday.

You would have expected her to disappear from the acting scene with the rise of new actresses but she is holding the industry down, let us give you a brief run down on the career of one of the female pioneers of Nollywood in our time. 44 years now and she is still gracing our screens, guess like fine wine she only gets better with time.

In 1993 Henshaw auditioned for the lead role in the movie When the Sun Sets and was handed the role. This was her first appearance in a major Nollywood movie.  In 2008 she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film Stronger than Pain (how many of you can remember the daring Eringa?) Presently, she is the lead in comedy series “Do Good”.

Brand endorsements include Kate being the “The Face of Onga”. She is also a judge on Nigeria’s Got Talent. Best believe that she is not cashing out of the industry anytime soon.

We love Kate’s smile. We love that she takes her time to keep her body in shape. We love that she continues to stand up for causes that affects the public, speaking publicly when need be.

We love the fact that she is proud of her hometown and represents them whenever she can. Also remember that she contested for the Federal House of Representatives for Calabar Municipal/Odukpani Federal Constituency but lost. Brave woman kept on moving.

Her Lekki house got gutted by fire last month and it didn’t faze this strong lady. This is woman is a solid rock, we  imagine some people would have gone to social media to curse their twelve ancestors.

She is also a mentor to so many upcoming actresses, and that love showed all over social media on her birthday as they spoke affectionately about her.

Most of all, we love her because she is successful. Who measures success for an actress? Well the fans do, and we have it on good authority that the fans love and appreciate her.

The Cross-River beauty is here to stay and we don’t want her leaving our screens.
