The Meghan Markle Effect: Her Best Post-Engagement Style Moments
Meghan Markle is what we can refer to as a true style star, from her minimalist, yet classy styles in Suits to her lace dresses at lunchtime.
Ever since our style star for today announced her engagement to Prince Harry, she has been lifted further into the limelight and the world has its eyes fixed on her every move and, more interestingly, her style. Take for instance the elegant ivory outfit she wore to announce her engagement to Prince Harry, which sold out in no time.
Markle can arguably be said to be reinventing the way royals dress (even before she has officially joined the family). Here are some of her major style moments since her engagement.
First of all, we have to spotlight her outfit the day she and Prince Harry announced their engagement on November 27, 2017. She walked out to the Sunken Garden in Kensington Palace, looking regal in a wrap-waist white coat from the Line over a forest green sheath dress from P.A.R.O.S.H and nude suede Aquazzura strap pumps, and sporting a three-stone engagement ring, which the jeweller has refused to replicate if that must be added. The engagement also triggered an increase in Markle-inspired wedding trends, with brides buying dresses from designers Markle allegedly tried on and shifting their wedding dates from May to avoid it being upstaged.
Markle made her debut at an official royal appearance on December 1, 2017, looking sleek in a Wolford sweater, a tan, flared Joseph midi skirt and a navy Mackage coat over a pair of Kurt Geiger boots.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made quite a (huge) statement on December 21, 2017, with their official engagement portraits. Markle wore a Victoria Beckham sweater over Ralph & Russo Couture gown worth about $65,000.
On Christmas Day, Meghan Markle marked her first soon-to-be-royal holiday at Sandringham in a tan Sentaler wrap coat over cognac Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots and accessorised with a custom Philip Treacy fascinator.
It was a second official royal engagement for the couple at the Reprezent 107.3FM radio station, which is training young people in radio and broadcasting to help positively influence youth, on January 9, 2018. The stylish bride-to-be wore a black sweater from Marks and Spencer, flared Burberry trousers and a Smythe Brando coat over Sarah Flint Jay pumps and a Jigsaw scarf. It was a total hit!
