Essential Pieces to Have in A Minimalist Wardrobe –

1. Basic Tee

Stock up on neutral-coloured, basic tees and you’ll be able to pull off an effortlessly casual look, or even a dressy one, easily. The great thing about tees is that there are varieties of styles – scoop neck, crew neck, short sleeve, long sleeve –  but no style really takes away from the amazing simplicity of the item. Whichever you choose to style them, they will always work. If you’re absolutely certain you will actually wear them, feel free to throw in a few other colours – yellow, purple, green, etc. It’ll make your wardrobe pop every now and then.

2. An Awesome Pair of Jeans

Needless to say, jeans are probably the most worn item in your closet. Having one or two pairs of jeans that fit perfectly and that you can always rely on is one f the best feelings in the world. When you happen to stumble across a pair that really fits, and is great quality, buy more than one pair of it in a dark wash, a lighter one, and probably a coloured one as well. What makes jeans another minimalist wardrobe essential is how incredibly versatile they are.

3. A Fitted Blazer

You may not need to wear one every day, but a blazer will come in handy when you need to get a little more dressed up. Sometimes, you might just wear it to complement an outfit even. Blazers can be worn with a pair of jeansor over a cocktail dress when the need arises. Ensure the silhoutte of the blazer is fitted so it looks better over dresses or tops that are a little loose. When picking a blazer, the different styles and colours available may prove to be a little to tempting, so pick something you will get the most use out of.

4. A Dress for Every Occassion

We all need that one dress we can rely on when we need to get dressed up for a date or a fancy lunch. Although the LBD is a quick favorite, other colours can be versatile too when paired with the right items from yur wardrobe. You can wear them to work with a sweater and/or tights and then transform it into appropriate night wear with a great pair of heels and the right jewelry.

5. Accessories – Flats, Scarves and Bags

I can count the number of women I know who want to be in heeels all the item on one hand. Flats are awesome because they come in so many colours and styles and are extremely versatile. Seriously. Best part is a really gorgeous pair can be the most comfortable thig in the world when you have them one. Scarves allow you to switch up a look a good number of times without anyone really noticing. You can invest in different prints and learn to tie them in a variety of ways so you look brand new every time. Bags can be practical and functional. Clutches and purses are cute, but a big bag will make a style statement as well as allow you carry everythingyou need to conveniently.

6. Camisoles and Blouses

You need camisoles and button-up blouses are a perfect balance between dressy and casual. They don’t even have to be button up blouses, really. Choose something you will comfortable in, and that you will wear often. You’ll find that you can pair them different ways with other items in your wardrobe like skirts, blazers, and shorts – depending on the occassion.
