Black girl magic overflowed in abundance at the Sunday night Emmy awards. Our heads have been reeling at the fashion overload, As the glamorous women of television and colour thankfully graced us with the red carpet Eye candy we didn’t know we needed, Here are a few of the best dressed.

Yara Shahidi

Yara Shahidi is admittedly one of our favourite celebrities and one of the freshest additions to the fashion crowd. That being said, it’s no surprise she’s decked in custom Prada.

Regina King

Legs were one show as Regina King stepped out in a floral number, Regina is wearing a Galia Lahav dress, Dvani Adgem earrings, and Hearts on Fire bracelets.

Gugu Mbatha

We have fallen in love with Gugu Mbatha-Raw. She won the hearts of many in Black Mirror’s San Junipero episode and the second time was right here, in this magnificent ombre custom Boss gown.

This. Whole. Look. Gabrielle Union in lacy Zuhair Murad reminds us that black dresses don’t need to be super-simple.

Viola Davis

This is not the first we have seen the star hit a red carpet in a bright coloured dress – remember her red hot Oscar look from last year – and we have to say these colours look AH-MAZING on her! Viola Davis wore an orange hue, figure-flattering gown by Zac Posen, accessorised with Stuart Weitzman and Harry Winston accessories.

Quiet a unique sleeve detail which elevated Insecure star Issa Rae’s Vera Wang red, red carpet dress above the rest.

Tessa Thompson

Tessa Thompson arrive at the Emmys red carpet on Sunday night wearing a rainbow coloured Rosie Assoulin dress. Featuring a high collar and cutouts at the waist, the multicoloured, pleated lurex gown is from the designer’s Resort 2018 collection.
