With increased interest in all aspects of our cultures, love for the continent has well and truly increased over the past five years. Although Ankara is not authentically African, it has been adopted into our culture for decades.

From international designers taking “inspiration” from Africa (Burberry’s SS12 collection anyone?) to music from and inspired by the continent moving from being labelled Afrobeats, to being a sound incorporated into many artists’ style; there’s been a paradigm shift.
