Waterproof mascara can be very difficult to take off, as it’s designed to be water resistant. So washing your face with mere water is mostly an unproductive way to try to remove it.

I bet the last time you tried using water or cotton to remove it, you  found it impossible to swipe off all the traces of the impressively immovable formula, sometimes even after a significant amount of scrubbing with the best makeup removers and showering! But that’s not to say that waterproof mascaras cannot be removed.

Waterproof mascara can be quickly removed effortlessly and effectively with some natural products just behind the next street around you.

Let’s look at 3 major Natural ways to remove Waterproof mascaras effortlessly:

  1. Olive Oil

Remove your eye makeup with olive oil. Since the mascara is waterproof, use the opposite of water: oil. Oil breaks down the waterproof properties in your mascara, helping it slide off your lashes with minimal scrubbing and wiping.

Olive oil

Step

Pour olive oil on your fingers and rub your eyelashes with your index finger and thumb until your lashes are coated with oil. The mascara should then come off easily.

  1. Coconut Oil

Use coconut oil. Coconut oil does a great job of breaking down your mascara and leaves the delicate skin around your eyes hydrated, too.

Put a dab of coconut oil on a cotton ball and gently sweep it over your eyes.

Coconut

Step

Grab one sheet of a make –up remover or a little piece of cotton wool, pure a drop of coconut oil content on it, close your eye and position the cotton ball on the bottom side of your lashes. This should be the side where you’ve applied the mascara. Once the cotton wool is underneath your lashes, apply gentle pressure so that the underside of your lashes is pressed against the cotton wool.

Always remove the mascara carefully and gently. If you rub too hard, you will end up pulling out some of your eyelashes and irritating the skin area around your eyes.

  1. Water, Vitamin E Capsules & Oil

Honestly, this is good recipe to try if you simply want a DIY natural make up remover. It’s basically just water and oil with a little added nutrition for your eyes.

Vit E

Step

Make a solution of water; 1 cup of water, 2capsules of Vitamin E and 1/8 tsp oil.

Add contents in a clean container or dispenser. Shake up the solution to ensure it is properly combined. Use a clean face towel or cotton ball to apply and wipe your eyes with solution to remove makeup.

One good advantage of using natural products to remove waterproof mascara is that you don’t have to be afraid of risking the content into of product into your eyes; so even when product mistakenly gets into your eyes, you don’t specifically stand the risk of an eye infection.

Summarily, should you find yourself using commercial products in removing  water resistant make-ups, avoid using petroleum jelly, as petroleum jelly is a gasoline by-product and as such, not an ideal substance to use around the eye area.

If you must use petroleum Jelly, use it only as a last resort and avoid getting it directly in your eyes.
