The Power Couple: The Jacobs

For the longest time I have seen this power couple on the big screen and I have thought to myself, “I really want to have what they have”. Maybe it’s bad to wish for what other people have but, at the end of the day, this couple has been a major influence in the entertainment industry – collectively and individually. Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva have been a power couple as well as a power house in the entertainment industry.

They both started with their secondary education in Nigeria and took their careers further by going to England to get the professional training needed to further their careers as actors. This article is not about their careers as actors, or the numerous awards which they have amassed in their very successful careers, but their impact as individuals who have done tremendously well for themselves and have become in their own unique way, pillars of society.

Five reasons why we love this power couple;

• The Jacobs have had a career as old as time itself and this has shown us what it means to do well in your chosen career. Make the right choices, be the best at what you do and leave your footprints in the sands of time.
• The Jacobs must have an understanding which surpasses individuality. They have respect for each other as individuals and that has made a good platform to work as a couple.
• Diversity has been the watchword of this couple. Joke Silva graces our screen every year as a member of the faculty for Project Fame Nigeria.
• The couple have created a life on and off screen that they can be proud of. If there was ever a true visual representation of happiness and growth, it would be The Jacobs
• They are role models to so many in the industry and life in general.

The perfect balance which they have created has endeared this couple to our hearts. There are a lot of hardships and challenges they have faced. Most of these, we may never get to know about. But all of this is what contributes to the effectiveness of the light their personal and professional relationship. It is delightful to have a ray of sunshine in dark situations and the Jacobs are the sun itself.
