It was a surprising twist when former vice president of Nigeria Atiku Abubakar picked Former Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi as the running mate for the upcoming 2019 presidential election.

Peter Obi was once a member of The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) before he joined People’s Democratic Party (PDP). While some people welcome the choice others are sceptical.

Peter Obi is known for making some cuts on unnecessary spending during his tenure as governor. Some ‘concessions’ were slashed to the displeasure of some people at the time.

Some people believe he will continue in that stride if PDP wins and a lot of people who enjoy the ‘comforts of servitude’ will not be too pleased.

Some Nigerians have expressed their thoughts via Twitter.
