It’s official, Rihanna‘s next album, R9, is coming in December 2019.

Fans and spectators have been awaiting this release for what almost seems like forever, as the star has taken the past couple of years to focus on conquering the fashion and beauty spheres.

According to multiple French reporters covering Universal Music France’s Open Session event, Universal revealed the multi-platinum singer’s ninth studio LP will be released in December.

Last year, while announcing a new Fenty Beauty product via Instagram on Friday (December 21), a fan asked Rihanna when her next album was coming. She replied, “2019.”

So far the Platinum singer has stayed relatively quiet about her highly anticipated project, but she did note she’s eager to drop it during a conversation with Interview Magazine in June.

“It really does suck that it can’t just come out because I’m working on a really fun one right now,” she said. “I’m really happy with a lot of the material we have so far, but I am not going to put it out until it’s complete. It makes no sense to rush it, but I want it out. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m like, ‘Even if I don’t have the time to shoot videos, I’m going to put an album out.’”

The Grammy winner’s last album, ANTI, was released in 2016 featured hits like “Desperado” and “Work.”  The LP peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
