Rihanna who is due to visit Senegal tomorrow ahead of the Global Partnership for Education had been declared “persona non grata”.

According to Jeune Afrique, a religious body made up of  30 groups in Senegal, most of whom are of the Islamic faith, has accused her of being a member of the Freemasonry and a supporter of homosexuality.

“We will demonstrate right out of the plane. And if necessary, we will go before the Assembly, the Interior Ministry or the Presidency”, Jeune Afrique reports in French.

They claim that her presence poses a dangerous threat to the socio-cultural values of the nation.

Rihanna who is an ambassador of the Summit is expected to be in the conference alongside President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and Senegalese President, Macky Sall.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Interior has said that the safety of attendees will be ensured.

The Global Partnership for Education (GPE)has an aim of funding developing countries to ensure that children receive quality education.
