Nigerian music star, Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon better known by his performing name, Reekado Banks in a recent chat with Cool FM has explained why he decided to part ways on the business front with his brother, Temi Solomon who was formerly his manager.

According to the 25-year-old singer, his decision to drop his brother from managing him is as a result of next level dealings seeing that his vision has grown and he needs people who ‘see as far as he sees’.

Speaking on the sack of his brother, Reekado Banks said:

“It was just next level dealings, I wanted to get somewhere else, the vision became alot farther, like I saw farther than I used to see and I just needed somebody that’ll see as much, most especially someone that’s been there with other people (artists) but me and my brother are cool.”

When asked if Temi who has managed him since the beginning of his career is still a part of his team in any capacity, he answered in the negative saying that not at the moment.

Reekado Banks is now managed by Twenty20 media led by Davido’s former manager, Kamal Ajiboye.

It would be recalled that Reekado Banks joined Mavin Records in 2014 and left four years later in 2018. His record deal with Mavin Records came as a result of his brother submitting some of his songs to the label in an online talent search. Reekado Banks got signed to Mavin Records after his entries were selected from over 5000 entries. In an interview with the National Mirror, he said his brother submitted his songs and communicated with the label on his behalf without his initial consent. Reekado Banks also told the National Mirror he’s a versatile artist who makes music with the thought that humans are different and have different taste.

His debut studio album Spotlight was released on 1 September 2016; it debuted at number 10 on the Billboard World Albums chart.
