Krista Joiner, the wife of American rapper Xzibit has filed for divorce from the rapper after 20 years of being together.

TMZ reported that Joiner on Monday put in the filing for a split from the Detroit-born rapper, 46, at Los Angeles Superior Court.

Xzibit, real name Alvin Nathaniel Joiner and Krista Joiner have been together since 2001, married in November 2014 near Laguna Beach, with a reception at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point.

Xzibit and Krista are parents to two sons together, but tragically losing baby Xavier in May 2008 11 days after he was born prematurely; and son Gatlyn, 10.

The star is also father to a son named Tremaine Joiner from a previous relationship.

Krista wore a mermaid staples gown featuring a sweetheart neckline when she married the musician, with a black ribbon with a brooch detail as a belt.

The rapper meanwhile wore a classic black Louis Vuitton suit with a streamline bowtie.

While most couple’s exchange rings, the pair added some serious bling by getting matching his and hers diamond-encrusted Rolex’s.

The Hey Now star wrote at the time: “Yesterday was our wedding day. It was nothing short of amazing. We were surrounded by friends and family and had an outstanding ceremony. It was not tainted by negative energy and I made sure it stayed that way.”

He confessed that there was a time he thought he would never get married.

“I had to do a LOT of growing up and over time came the maturity I needed to be able to make a commitment stronger than anything that I have done in my life outside of being a father to my two beautiful sons.

“Yesterday, I made my family complete. I had to realize that I am not perfect and I don’t always do the right thing, but when I was standing there, watching it all unfold, the only thing I could think about was, I am worthy of being a husband and she deserves the world and the security that comes from being a wife.

“I have no regrets about my past, the good and the bad.

“But now, this is my future. My sons needed to see that. They now have an example to reference in life when it comes to being a man and how to treat a real woman when you find her, or in my case where she puts up with your bulls**t until you come around… lol.”
