It was confirmed yesterday that they will be getting married on May 19, 2o18. This breaks the tradition of royal weddings, which usually take on weekdays- the Queen got married on a Thursday and the Duke of Cambridge on a Friday.

Meghan Markle will also be joining the Queen and other members of the royal family at Sandringham, the Queen’s private estate in Norfolk, on Christmas Day. She will attend the traditional Christmas Day church service with the rest of the royal family at the St Mary Magdalene Church.

This invitation is also a break of tradition as she is the first royal fiancee to be invited to Sandringham before becoming an official member of the royal family.

Interestingly, the wedding day falls on the same day with the FA Cup final which Prince William usually attends to present the trophy.
