Nigerians React To Burna Boy’s Grammy Award Loss
Burna Boy’s African Giant album was nominated for Grammy award and this news made so many Nigerians happy and they all anticipated his win. However, in a twist, the popular Angelique Kidjo took the award home.
This will not be her first win, rather, her fourth Grammy win in nine nominations first of those nominations came in 1995. Her first win came in 2007 in the Best Contemporary World Music category. She also picked a Grammy each in the Best World Music Album category in 2014 and 2015 for the albums Eve and Sings respectively.

The guy broke into US market, Mainstream. Even wizkid had to break into UK market first. The impact Burna made this year, he was clearly robbed. But am I surprised? Grammies just does what Grammies likes, not what’s legit. Mtsew. Congrats to angelic kidjo by the way.

Angelique Kidjoe winning the Grammy as opposed to Burna Boy sits very fine with me. That woman is a beast. Love that she recognized him in her speech though

Burna is no doubt an African Giant, not easy to win, when nominated alongside your mentor and a legend of Africa. Burna keep the flag flying, we coming back to win the Grammys. Anticipate the Coming of the African Giant II 🦍🦍🦍
