Sensational music A-listers, Flavour and Timaya led other acts to serenade members of the University of Benin community as the Globacom-sponsored concert, the Glo Campus storm, held in the university last Thursday.

The mammoth attendees will for months to come remember the show, which was organised at the In-door Sports Hall of the University of Benin for its gaiety, unlimited entertainment and fun.

Flavour was simply in his elements during his performance as he displayed his mastery of showmanship and belted out popular tracks like ‘Jeun Soke’, ‘Adanma’, “Baby You Too Fine’, ‘Sexy Rosie’, ‘ Osondu Owendu’ and closed the show with ‘Waka Waka’.

On his part, Timaya dazzled with his ‘Babalawo Power’ hit track and moved on to ‘Jehovah’, ‘Ogologoma’, ‘Bom Bom’, ending with ‘Won Fe Pami’ to take the show several notches higher.

Apart from Timaya and Flavour, Hip hop dynamo, Asterix who stormed the stage with his ‘Yapa’ and ‘Okpeke’ signature tunes was supported by other local flavours from the University to give an above par performance while the Warri-Born comedian, Bovi, who compered the event, sent attendees rolling in laughter with his rib-cracking jokes and anecdotes.

In all, the UNIBEN edition of the Glo Campus Storm delivered on its promise to provide ultimate musical experience with the crowd responding to each act as the artistes were on top of their games dishing out lyrics after lyrics to the delight of the cheering crowd. From the wheel of steel, DJ Neptune made a dance hall of the show with his deft handling of the jukebox.

Dancing competition among the students was the curtain raiser for the sublime evening while the beauty pageant to select the “Glo Campus Data Diva” and the “Glo Campus Data Dude” was as spectacular as the performances by the artistes on parade. At the end of the contest, Okonkwo Chidima won the crown as UNIBEN “Glo Campus Data Diva” with a prize of N100, 000 just as
Nwabuaku-Olu Lucy, Nkemditim Michael, Ifijen Emmanuella and Nwana Chidima Maryclare won N50, 000 each.

In the male category, Christopher Akin became the UNIBEN “Glo Campus Data Dude” winning the N100, 000 star prize of the category. The other four winners in the category included Arabamhen Precious, Amadasun Wisdom, Uzooko Elochukwu and Akpejiori Austin who won N50, 000 each.
