Etisalat boosts Simi’s career with brand ambassador deal

Nigeria’s soul singer and X3M Music artiste Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, popularly known as Simi, has signed a deal with telecommunication company Etisalat as Brand Ambassador.

Simi, who was unveiled recently at the company’s Experience Centre on Adeola Odekun Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, expressed joy and fulfilment at her new role as the face of the telecom brand, which she described as a boost to her music career.

“I’m elated by this milestone in my music career; it is a big boost and I commend Etisalat for supporting home grown talents,” she enthused.

Speaking at the formal signing of an agreement between the telco and Simi, Director, Brands and Experience, Etisalat Nigeria, Elvis Ogiemwanye, said the company is happy to welcome Simi into the Etisalat family. He added that the decision to sign the youthful and talented artiste further affirmed Etisalat’s commitment to encouraging and supporting home grown talents in different endeavors including art, sciences or even business to realise their potentials.

“All of us at Etisalat heartily welcome Simi into the Etisalat family. We are especially excited at the final choice of Simi as our new Brand Ambassador because she perfectly fits into the set of tough criteria and painstaking selection process that we set for anyone who wants to be the Etisalat ambassador. She has good character, integrity and creativity,” he said.

Ogiemwanye said further that Simi as a highly talented singer has proved her worth within the short time of her entry into the Nigerian entertainment industry, and that she is a source of positive inspiration to majority of young Nigerians.

Since its launch into the Nigerian market in 2008, Etisalat has consistently supported several talent development initiatives including the sponsorship of DJ Xlusive All Whilte Party, Kado Picnic and Be A Nigerian Concert among others.
