A warm new year to you! Every year, people around the world design new resolutions and goals which they hope to achieve.

Some celebrities have added fresh drama to their resolutions. Some of these resolutions seem like what will be their mantra moving forward.

Here is a rundown of the week:

Obama’s billboard debut

The former President of the United States, Barack Obama has made a debut on Billboard Hot RnB chart.

The debut is thanks to his performance alongside Christopher Jackson and BeBe Winans on a track from the Broadway musical Hamilton called One Last Time.

Obama on the track recites a passage from George Washington’s 1796 farewell address at the end of the song.

The gospel track is reportedly sold 9,000 downloads and had 307,000 online streams in the first week following its December 20, 2018 release.

The song is intended to raise money for various nonprofits.

Baby number four

Uh huh, you heard right. Kim and Kanye West are expecting their fourth child, a boy this time, in May. This will not be the first time that they will be involved in surrogacy.

They conceived their last child, Chicago, through this process.

According to reports, the surrogate has one embryo left, and they decided to use it.

A source told People, “Kim and Kanye were already talking about baby No. 4 when Chicago was just a couple of days old.” Back to it, you can now play the name guess game.

Oluwa African giant

While Nigerians were excited with Coachella’s announcement of having Burna Boy and Mr Eazi on the 2019 Coachella listing taking place from the 12th of April to the 21st, Burna Boy was obviously not excited because of the placement of his name on the list.

He stated that as an AFRICAN GIANT, his name should not be in small fonts before suggesting that the design should be changed.

He later said that  his remark “didn’t come from a place of pride or entitlement” but rather from his “Vision of the future of AFRICA, not just AFRICAN music.”

Surviving R. Kelly

A docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly, centred on R. Kelly and his serial child rape allegations became the subject of global conversation after they aired it on Lifetime.

The three-episode series which saw the likes of John Legend speak against R. Kelly also touched on his marriage with Aaliyah.

R. Kelly had before its airing, threatened to sue Lifetime in a federal lawsuit if they ever aired it because the series made him look like a bad person.

Jay Z, Celine Dion, Erykah Badu among others were criticised for not showing up for the series.

Viktoh attacked

Former YBNL signee Viktoh recently suffered unjust brutality at the hands of officers of the Lagos state police command while on his way to Afrikan shrine for the concert of his colleague Zlatan.

The artiste was terribly injured on his right eye as photos and a video of him surfaced on the internet with a swollen eye that could barely open.

The incident occurred at Alpha Beach Road, Igbo Efon, Lekki.

The circumstances of the confrontation that led to the attack is still unclear.

However, after the attack, Viktoh performed at Zlatan’s show regardless and it thrilled the audience.
