Listen: Moelogo Releases His Sixth EP ‘I The EP’

Described by The FADER as an Afropop dream, Moelogo continues his stint of musical success with this new body of work—ME.

He draws inspiration from Afrobeat legends such as Fela Kuti and King Sunny Ade and modern R&B and dancehall music including that of soul icon Curtis Mayfield.

Bursting onto the scene with his breakthrough single “Pangolo”, Moelogo released his debut EP ‘Moe Is My Name, Music Is My Logo’ in 2013.

Since dropping his 2014 underground hit “The Baddest” with Giggs, Moelogo has firmly been a part of the buzzing UK music scene, having to work with Da Beatfreakzon their club-and radio smash “Pumpy” and Swarmz on his single “Bally” Ft. Tion Wayne, for which he was awarded 2 Silver plaque’s by the BPI as recognition for his songwriting prowess and has attracted over 7 million streams on Spotify and spent 9 weeks in the UK Official Charts where it reached the Top 40.

He participated in Tiwa Savage’s writing camp creating 4 songs that were on her debut album as well as writing a song for Kelly Rowland titled ‘Better’ on her most recent project titled ‘K’.

In 2020, he won the Headies award for the best alternative song from ‘ME THE EP’ titled I wonder. Moelogo is an artist that has been growing from strength to strength with a list of impressive collaborations such as Jonas Blue, Tiwa Savage, FuseODG, Adekunle Gold, Giggs, Saweetie, Davido, Sneakbo, Cheat Codes, Wretch 32, Avelino, Mr. Eazi, S Wavey, Maleek Berry, Ramz, and Juls to mention a few.

His unique sound and passion for authentic music have seen him perform memorable sets for Boiler Room, Redbull, SXSW, Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball at The O2and big shows for VEVOand Kiss FM, among other platforms.

As the 3-part series is coming to an end, it is only fair to finish it off with a bang! With ME & MYSELF, they showed off the real-life emotion Moelogo was feeling with only two features.

Both EPs gained him a fair amount of attention resulting in him being the first African artist in the diaspora to win a 2020 Headies award.

I THE EP is an 11-track rollercoaster with several songs that can make you cry, vibe, whine your waist, to songs that make you want to be at a party, A perfect blend of Afrobeat, R&B, and Palm wine sounds.

This 11-track ep features 9 of Nigeria & London’s most exciting acts such as; L.A.X, Bella Shmurda, Adekunle Gold, Reekado Banks, QDOT, Alpha Ojini, LAYCON (Big Brother Nigeria Winner), The CaveMEN & Krishane.

All artists who have a solid fan base are equally excited to hear what he has done with these artists. I THE EP is targeted at people who enjoy beautiful progressions and relatable content.

Anyone can fall in love with this project. There is a song for any mood. A balance of Afro-swing, Dance, Rnb, Bashment, World & Soul. This will consider this the biggest project that will be coming from Moelogo.
