‘Lagos Music Week’ Set To Promote Lagos As The Next Big Music City

Anchored by West Africa’s biggest one-day music festival, Gidi Culture Fest, and a range of popular events, Lagos Music Week is set to be an annual celebration of the very best of music and lifestyle the city has to offer.

7 days of live music concerts, fashion events, conferences, nightlight, and exhibitions will be taking over the vibrant Nigerian capital, including the 6th edition of Gidi Culture Fest, the Inaugural ECHO Music Conference (EMC), Arise Fashion Week, Sneaker Exchange at XII Glover where street footwear meets music street culture, Terra Kulture’s next musical and theatrical extravaganza of Queen Moremi: The musical, plus much more to be added in celebration of music in Lagos.

As a result, Nigeria’s economic and cultural powerhouse is set to exceed over 50,000 attendees from all around Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world boosting tourism for Africa’s most populous city. Lagos Music Week is part of #VisitLagos campaign spearheaded by Lagos State.

On his support for the initiative, The Honourable commissioner of tourism for Lagos State, Mr Steve Ayorinde says:

“The Lagos State Government is happy to endorse and be associated with the Lagos Music Week and the Echo Music Conference. Coming from a credible and consistent promoter of popular culture, both initiatives align with the mandate of the state’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to use the musical arts and the creative energy of our teeming youths to further promote the image of our state as a prime destination and powerhouse of a creative economy.”

Lagos Music Week and ECHO Music Conference have been established by the Echo Music and Arts Foundation, which is a non-profit music and arts development organisation based in Nigeria. The Echo Music Foundation aims to support the industry in building a thriving and sustainable music ecosystem in Nigeria, where music professionals are equipped to succeed locally, and in the international music market.
